Wonderveld started with a simple frustration: most travel guides are written from a hotel lobby, not from the ground. Entry fees quoted as "varies." Restaurant recommendations that turn out to be tourist traps. Advice that could have been written about any country, not specifically South Africa.
We set out to build something different — a guide written by people who actually live here, with real 2026 rand prices, honest neighbourhood notes, and recommendations for local guides, hosts and small operators who rarely get seen by big travel publishers.
